If Aaron Rodgers returns to play quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season, he’ll be part of the NFL’s first game in Paris when Pittsburgh plays the New Orleans Saints at Stade de France in Week 7.
The NFL on Wednesday revealed the matchups of its international slate, which features nine games, the most outside the United States in the league’s history. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said his goal is to get to 16 international games per season.
Three of the matchups this season — San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia (Week 1), Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro (Week 3) and Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons in Madrid (Week 9) — had previously been announced.
The other matchups were announced Wednesday — the Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Commanders in London (Week 4), the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars in London (Week 5), the Houston Texans vs. Jaguars in London (Week 6), the Steelers vs. Saints in Paris (Week 7), the New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions in Munich (Week 10) and the Minnesota Vikings vs. 49ers in Mexico City (Week 11).
Rodgers, 42, still has not informed the Steelers whether he will play this season, although the team has expressed confidence that the four-time MVP will return to play in Pittsburgh for a second season. The team begins organized team activities next week under new coach Mike McCarthy, Rodgers’ former coach with the Green Bay Packers for 13 seasons.
The 49ers will be the road team for the Thursday night game on Sept. 10 against the Rams on Netflix. That game will actually take place on Friday morning in Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In Mexico City at Estadio Banorte, the 49ers will be the home team for a Sunday night game on Nov. 22 against the Vikings.
There are three games in London, the league’s most common international site, with the Jaguars for the first time moving consecutive home games abroad. They’ll play the Eagles in Week 5 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 11 and then face the AFC South rival Texans in Week 6 at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 18. The Commanders will be the home team at Tottenham on Oct. 4 when they face the Colts.
The Saints will be the home team for the first game in Paris in Week 7 on Oct. 25. The Lions will be the home team in Munich at FC Bayern Munich Arena in Week 10, facing the Patriots on Nov. 15.
The Cowboys will be the home team in Rio de Janeiro at Maracanã Stadium against the Ravens on Sept. 27, a Week 3 late afternoon game on CBS, and the Falcons will be the home team in Madrid at Bernabéu Stadium in Week 9 against the Bengals on Nov. 8.
The complete 2026 regular-season schedule will be announced Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. A two-hour primetime special will air on ESPN.
