Britain’s Charlie Guest will make his ONE Championship debut against Sam Fitzgerald on June 27, live on Sky Sports.
An ISKA world champion, WBC European and British kickboxing champion, Guest was originally due to fight Bampara Kouyate on ONE Fight Night 44, live on Sky Sports in the early hours of June 27.
With Kouyate forced to withdraw, Fitzgerald, a WBC New Zealand super-welterweight champion, will step in to take on ONE’s new British star.
Standing at 6ft, Andover native Guest possesses a highly technical and powerful stand-up arsenal that has already earned him major titles across Europe.
On June 27, Guest will begin his quest for a ONE world title and look to become the next Englishman to capture 26lbs of gold.
“This is something I’ve worked towards my entire life, and I truly believe this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to show the world exactly what I’m capable of. Dreams into reality,” Guest said.
“Massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey, my team, training partners, coaches, sponsors, friends and family. I’m beyond grateful for every bit of support along the way.
“June 27, time to show the world, I’m coming for it all. Let’s go.”
In the main event on the show, Britain’s George Jarvis will rematch Thai maestro Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong.
Jarvis knocked out Sitsongpeenong to earn a life-changing contract and coveted roster spot with ONE Championship. Both men would later go on to challenge for the ONE world title belts, but each warrior fell short in their first attempt.
Now, nearly two years later, fate has brought these stars back together, and a victory at the historic Lumpinee Stadium could drastically change their lives once again.
For Jarvis, it’s an opportunity to beat his Thai rival once again and get a second shot at ONE world title gold.
