Eleven men have been found guilty on a raft of charges – including murder – in connection with a 2022 cash-in-transit heist in Rosettenville, in which eight people were killed.
The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg delivered its judgment in the case on Tuesday.
Ten of the accused – Sihle Mazibuko, Qaphela Ngubeni, Menzi Shabalala, Khulekani Nkosi, Kitso Mnguni, Phendula Mvubu, Mike Ngwadi, Hloniphani Dube, Alex Matshebele, and Andrew Tshobolo – were convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of explosives.
Sandile Gasa, meanwhile, was only found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
