Premier League champions Arsenal will begin their title defence against newly-promoted Coventry live on Sky Sports on Friday August 21.

The curtain-raising fixture will be Coventry’s first game in the top flight in 25 years and will take place at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners, who ended a 22-year wait to become champions last season, face Aston Villa at Villa Park in their second game on August 29 before meeting Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in their third fixture on September 5.

Their first meeting with last season’s runners-up Manchester City comes at the Emirates Stadium on November 28, with the first north London derby of the campaign taking place away to Tottenham a week later on December 5.

Arsenal face Manchester City and Liverpool in consecutive games on January 30 and February 6 at the Etihad Stadium and the Emirates Stadium respectively.

The home game against Spurs is on May 1, before the Gunners finish the campaign with fixtures against Leeds (May 8), Nottingham Forest (May 15), Everton (May 23) and, finally, a home game against Brighton on May 30.
