ANC granted leave to appeal ruling to halt Eastern Cape conference

The ANC has been granted leave to appeal a court decision to halt its Eastern Cape conference.

The ANC’s application to appeal the interdict halting the party’s Eastern Cape conference will be heard on Saturday at the East London High Court.

News24 has seen a communication dated 27 March addressed to ANC member Lwazi Rotya, the provincial executive of the ANC, and others.

Rotya is one of the people that took the party to court asking that the conference be halted on allegations, among others, of branch manipulation.

On Thursday afternoon, acting Judge Babalo Metu granted an interim interdict against the conference.

    The ANC appealed.
