Anthony Joshua weighed in 7.6lbs heavier than his last fight against Jake Paul, as the British boxer prepares to face Kristian Prenga on Saturday night in Jeddah.

Joshua took to the scales on Friday at 251lbs, having weighed 243.4lbs when he beat YouTube boxer Paul in December 2025.

Albanian Prenga scaled 261.4lbs, 10.4lbs heavier than Joshua.

The heaviest Joshua has ever been for a fight is 255.4lbs when he defeated Jermaine Franklin in April 2023.

Joshua faces a tough fight against the Albanian, who has lost just one of his 21 fights

“We’re feeling good. It’s going down tomorrow night in Jeddah,” Joshua said to DAZN Boxing.

The weigh-in came after Tyson Fury claimed a seventh-round TKO victory over Mariusz Wach in Thailand.

Fury said that he had ‘got through’ his test but was doubtful that Joshua would overcome tomorrow night’s opponent, Prenga.

The 35-year-old Albanian will be a formidable opponent for Joshua, with Prenga having lost only once in his 21-fight career, having claimed each of his last 16 victories via knock-out or TKO.

On Friday, Tyson Fury claimed victory over Mariusz Wach in Thailand and said he would not be coming to watch Joshua’s fight

“The work is done and this isn’t going to be easy,” Eddie Hearn told DAZN Boxing.

“[Prenga] isn’t a guy coming in here with a bundle of defeats, coming for a payday. He’s got the whole of Albania behind him by the sounds of things as well.

“Big fight, big opportunity. We know what comes the other side; we’ve just got to deal with this guy tonight.

“I expect, and I hope, that we get a performance that shows everything that Joshua has put into this training camp.”

Usyk’s team demanding ‘greatness’ from Joshua

Joshua, who hasn’t fought since he stepped into the ring to face Paul in December 2025, has been training with Oleksandr Usyk’s team to prepare for tomorrow’s fight.

He revealed in the build-up to tomorrow’s fight that Usyk’s team have encouraged him to ‘show greatness’ against Prenga this weekend.

“I’m quite good at what I do anyway,” Joshua told Sky Sports. “I’m quite strong. I can take, I can give, so sometimes I can just get away with doing enough but still be good enough.

“But these guys are like, ‘nah’. They want to see more. They want to see more, like bring it out.

“Let’s bring out the good stuff that you’ve got in you and let’s improve. And my approach to training has definitely improved a lot.”

He added: “You’re performing at your best, but it should be normal to perform at this level. That’s what Usyk’s team were saying. Your greatness should just be something that you do every day in the gym.”
