Rangers produced a stunning comeback at Falkirk to remain firmly in the Scottish Premiership title race with five games to play.

Danny Röhl’s side started the day in third after wins for Hearts and Celtic on Saturday, and it looked like going from bad to worse when Ben Broggio and Finn Yeats put the Bairns 2-0 up.

Tochi Chukwanui pulled one back before the break and a blistering start to the second half saw Rangers take a 3-2 lead after goals from Yousssef Chermiti and Nico Raskin.

Rangers had upped the tempo. Bojan Miovski added a fourth before Falkirk’s Calvin Miller got their third from the penalty spot after James Tavernier brought down Filip Lissah.

But Danny Röhl’s showed their title credentials as both Miovski and Chermiti scored again to put the game out of reach.

Rangers are back into second, a point behind leaders Hearts with Celtic a further two behind.

Only once previously this season had the Premiership’s top three all won on the same weekend, a record Rangers did not want to end.

Chukwuani’s controversial finish just before half-time kick-started an incredible comeback.

    Rangers controversial goal

Tochi Chukwuani pulls one back for Rangers against Falkirk, but did the ball go out of play?

The home side appeared to stop in anticipation of a goal kick after Raskin’s cross curled over the goalmouth seconds after Thelo Aasgaard hit the post. But the ball landed on the head of Djeidi Gassama, whose header hit the post before Chukwuani converted the rebound.

The introduction of Bojan Miovski for Mikey Moore at the break was a key change by Röhl.

Gassama was moved to the left and won the ball on the edge of the Falkirk box with his low cross flicked home by Chermiti, who soon sliced a decent chance to put his team in front.

Rangers had much more threat about them and they went in front in the 52nd minute. Raskin ran round the outside of Aasgaard and hit the Norwegian’s pass first time into the far corner.

Chermiti missed another chance before Raskin set up Miovski to bundle home with a cross from the left.

Falkirk got a lifeline in the 70th minute when Miller netted from the spot after Tavernier had brought down Filip Lissah.

But Raskin was involved again when Rangers restored their two-goal cushion, bursting forward before Chermiti netted after Gassama’s shot was blocked.

    Bojan Miovski scores Rangers’ fourth

The Belgian midfielder was eventually booked for a clash with Dylan Tait after earlier escaping yellow cards for a clear pull and embracing Rangers fans after his goal.

Miovski rounded off the scoring two minutes from time when he converted Oliver Antman’s low cross from close range.
