Jack Draper has been given a wild card for the National Bank Open in Montreal, which is live on Sky Sports from Monday August 3.

Draper got one of the final wild cards alongside Canadians Alexis Galarneau and Liam Draxl as he continues his attempt to try and return from a left arm injury.

The former world No 4 has endured an injury-strewn 2026 which saw him miss all three Grand Slam tournaments, but he enters the National Bank Open after a late withdrawal from this week’s DC Open in Washington.

The Brit, who is coached by Sir Andy Murray, has slipped to world No 147 in the ATP rankings, leaving him likely to face qualifying if he is to compete at September’s US Open after missing out on direct entry into the main draw.

Jack Draper reflects on his battles with injury after returning to action and speaks of the influence that Andy Murray has had on a difficult period in his career.

Draper has only played five tour events this year, last playing in Eastbourne last month.

Ahead of his withdrawal from Washington, Draper said: “I’ve had an incredibly challenging 12 months, a lot of adversity, a lot of problem solving, a lot of pain, and trying to understand that and come through it.

“I’ve never had a long-term injury before so I feel much better than I ever have in the last year. I feel physically really good.”

Jack Draper opens up about his recent struggles with injury and hails the impact of new coach Andy Murray.

Draper first stepped away from the tour a year ago with the arm problem and has managed only a handful of tournaments since, with knee and shoulder issues also interrupting his comeback.

Having missed the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon, Draper’s chances at participating in the last major tournament of 2026 – the US Open – are now also in doubt.

Watch the ATP and WTA Tours and US Open from August 30, live on Sky Sports or stream with NOW and the Sky Sports app, giving Sky Sports customers access to over 50 per cent more live sport this year at no extra cost. Find out more here.
