The South African Weather Service. has issued warnings of severe thunderstorms in parts of the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, the North West and Gauteng with heavy downpours, hail and damaging winds which may lead to flooding and cause damage to property, infrastructure and livestock.

A Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms is expected in the eastern parts of the Free State, northern KwaZulu-Natal, and the Mpumalanga escarpment areas.
