The South African Civil Aviation Authority’s (SACAA) Accidents and Incidents Investigations Division (AIID) confirmed the event and announced that an investigation is under way.
According to a statement released on Sunday morning, no injuries were reported, and the pilot, who was flying alone, emerged unharmed.
The aircraft had departed Parys airfield and was en route to Krugersdorp airfield when it suffered engine failure.

“This mechanical failure prompted the pilot to perform a forced landing, which was carried out successfully without causing any damage to the surroundings,” said AIID.
The AIID stated that investigators have not been dispatched to the accident site. Instead, a desktop investigation will be conducted using the available occurrence details.
“In line with international protocols, the AIID is not permitted to share photographs from an accident scene or disclose the identity of the individual involved during the investigation process,” the statement concluded.
