Suzuki seldom puts a foot wrong with their line-up of hatchbacks and SUVs, and the new Across, described by Suzuki as its most advanced SUV, should follow that trend.
Produced in India as the Victoris, this is Suzuki’s most spacious model, surpassing the Grand Vitara in size while sharing the same platform. In South Africa, it will be offered with Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15C 4-cylinder engine, paired with a mild-hybrid system that focuses on delivering exceptional fuel efficiency. Moderate power figures of 76kW and 139Nm drive the front wheels, and Suzuki claims a fuel consumption figure of 5.3l/100km.
When it launches in South Africa later this month, the range will consist of three variants, with the familiar GX badging available in manual or automatic, and the flagship GLX mated to the 6-speed automatic.

Interior details should mimic those found in other markets, including a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a slightly smaller 10.1-inch touchscreen.
Other features exclusive to the GLX, confirmed on Suzuki’s website, include an eight-speaker audio system, ventilated seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Pricing starts at R349 900 for the Across 1.5 Mild-hybrid GL 5MT. The GL 6AT is priced at R372 900, while the flagship Across 1.5 Mild-hybrid GLX 6AT is available from R464 900.
Customers opting for the GLX model can also specify a two-tone exterior finish at an additional cost of R4 500. The range is sold with a four-year or 60 000km service plan and a five-year or 200 000km promotional warranty.
