Last-time winners Hell Hound and Loki’s Mischief clash in a trappy renewal of the Francky Du Berlais Novices’ Handicap Chase at Ffos Las.
Hell Hound, pulled up on his chasing debut, sprang back to form with a decisive success at Southwell last month and he could have more to offer in this sphere.
Loki’s Mischief got off the mark at the second time of asking over fences at this track fifteen days ago and must be feared under this six-pound higher mark. Having survived a bad error, he readily disposed of his rivals and should progress again.
Barry Murphy’s Jack Jury has just under four lengths to find with Loki’s Mischief and enters calculations having dropped another pound in the weights.
Axel Bleue completes the quartet.
5.35 Yarmouth – Havana Lightning and Havana Sprite seek first success
The opening British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes is sure to be informative as Havana Lightning and Havana Sprite headline eleven runners.
George Boughey saddles Havana Lightning who could only manage fifth when favourite on debut at Newmarket last month and she could be sharper for that experience and is taken to bounce back under Billy Loughnane.
Havana Sprite shaped well when fourth on her first outing at Newmarket, pulling clear of the remainder of the field. Given a cleaner start, she should be in the mix for James Tate and Hector Crouch.
Of the others, Persian Sunset will hope to step up on her third at Beverley, while Havana Grey Star and Sable Island are worth a follow in the betting having shown promise on their debuts.
