    Tuesday’s weather: 43°C expected in Northern Cape as heatwave intensifies in Western regions

    The Northern Cape and Western Cape will experience extreme heat from Tuesday.

    The South African Weather Service has issued heatwave advisories for the western parts of the Namakwa District and west and south-western parts of the Western Cape, with the scorching conditions set to expand to the Little Karoo, Central Karoo and Garden Route districts from Tuesday.

    Advisories

    • Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected to continue over the western parts of the Namakwa District, the west and south-western parts of the Western Cape.
    • The heatwave will spread to the Little Karoo, Central Karoo and Garden Route districts.
    • The heatwave will extend into the Eastern Cape (excluding the extreme north and east) from Tuesday until Friday (10–13 March 2026).
