    Wednesday’s weather: Cape regions face heatwave, scattered showers, fog in other parts

    Intense heat, and scattered showers are expected across the country.

    Some parts of the country should prepare for wet weather, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

    KwaZulu-Natal and some parts of the Northern Cape, North West, Free State, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga Highveld and southern parts of Limpopo, can expect afternoon storms and flooding in low-lying areas prone to flooding.

    Coastal areas can expect fresh to strong winds, especially along the Western Cape’s south-west coast.

    Extremely high and uncomfortable heat conditions are expected over the Namakwa District Municipality in the Northern Cape, as well as in places in the Western Cape

    Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected over the western parts of the Namakwa District Municipality in the Northern Cape, south-west and northern parts of the Western Cape, and the Koukamma Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape until Friday, persisting until Saturday in the following areas in the Eastern Cape: the Sarah Baartman and Amathole district municipalities, King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality, and the Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City metros.
